| We
started in Danes about 32 yrs ago when Mick went to watch D.O.T.Y. with a
friend Sharon Tunnicliffe, he came home and was just smitten with the breed.
Two weeks later he came home with this black bitch from Nellie Ennall’s
kennels, she was just bought as a pet. After her, we went out and bought a
fawn dog from Mrs Joy Butcher’s kennels called Daneton Emperor. We had loads
of problems trying to get him to eat so we went and brought him a mate, his
sister who was a brindle. These were only pets at the time.
After a couple of years without a Dane, we adopted a couple of rescue Danes, then Mick decided it was time for another, so off we went looking at a lovely litter of fawns just 6 miles from where we lived (Sire: Danemoor The Persian Boy / Dam: Markrich Regal). We fell for the one that came running to us first, Markrich Major. He just stole our hearts. Anyway we paid our deposit but couldn’t have him till after the New Year so that we could settle him down without all the upset of Christmas. When we entered this little lad into his very first champ show, he won his classes plus B.P.D. Well that was it! Bitten with the show bug we carried on showing this lad till he was about 5. All the while we were showing him he never once stopped showing himself at his best. We took him back out as a veteran a couple of times and he continued his winning ways. BUT WE WERE NOW BITTEN BY THE SHOWING BUG!!! Since then we have started to breed our own line and have shown a few of them. Bronson (Emaneaz Pure Magic) our 1st brindle dog along with his fawn sister Abi (Emaneaz Pure Ambition) were from our 1st litter (Sire Jaydania Dante x Jaydania the Queen Bee for Emaneaz). BOTH QUALIFIED FOR CRUFTS AT THEIR 1ST CH show following 1st placings at EAST OF ENGLAND CH SHOW and then doing the same at LEEDS the following week. We lost Bronson at the tender age of 19 months and Abi never really enjoyed showing. Our second litter (Jaydania Ginola x Jaydania The Queen Bee for Emaneaz) followed two years later. We kept a brindle bitch from this litter, Bella ( Emaneaz Pure As Can Bee) and my brother had a brindle dog, Troy (Emaneaz Pure Tiger’s Boy). We had one from this litter come back, Diesel (Emaneaz Pure Cinnamon) his owners just hadn’t the time for him. We got him trained and took him out in the show ring where he did his fair share of winning, including B.I.S at THE GREAT DANE CLUB LIMIT SHOW. We were over the moon with him, and then came our 3rd litter which produced our George & Sophie (Sire: Norsef the Main Man X Emaneaz Pure Ambition). GEORGE did us really proud taking B.O.B.at the tender age of 6.5 months (judge Marie Day) and there was strong competition that day. He also went B.P.I,B AT THE EAST OF ENGLAND CH SHOW, JUDGE GWEN HERBERT then LEEDS B.P.I.B, JUDGE GEOFF LUSCOTT. At every show after that he was placed but we had a problem keeping his weight on. We mated George to Bella the brindle bitch from our second litter and from the subsequent litter kept Maddison (Emaneaz Pure Sweet Success) and EMANEAZ PURE STAR ATRACTION aka MR CHIPS. We are over the moon with this brindle boy the only show at which he has never been placed up to now is Crufts. At the time of typing this he is best BRINDLE dog on points. He was 14 months old when he went best brindle dog at the Colour Format (judge Mrs Sandy Lipman). HE ALSO WENT RESERVE BEST IN SHOW AT THE GREAT DANE CLUB LIMIT SHOW 2007 (judge Ms Helen Laidlaw). |
